Encountering The Living God, Living The Jesus Lifestyle, Loving Others In His Name

Please join us for one of our community gatherings every Sunday at 10:30am. We meet at 309 N. Main Street in downtown Royal Oak, just north of 11 Mile (map). We share space with the folks from First Baptist Church (The Church on Main Street), so look for the signs. At the gathering you can learn more about our home groups that meet throughout the week. Come early and/or stay late for some coffee and tasty treats. We look forward to seeing you! -- Jim Pool, pastor

Check out the Honest to God blog for some new posts, exploring these questions:
Why all the different denominations?
Do we really need to be concerned with global warming or is it all a hoax?

Praise Report

I thought I'd share a praise report from our prayer ministry team. A few weeks ago during worship the Lord gave me an impression that he wanted to touch with his grace someone experiencing pain in their lower right abdominal region. Someone did end up responding to that call and a couple of our prayer ministry team members prayed with this person. After a brief time of waiting on the Lord and inviting him to work, they prayed a simple prayer for healing, trusting in Jesus' authority, and the individual was released from recurring pain that they had had for 18 years! Praise God! Jesus, may your kingdom come. Amen.

Good Friday Baptism

Friends,

Hi. You may have heard we're having a baptism celebration immediately following our Good Friday gathering. That's this Friday! If you plan on staying for the baptism, please make an effort to park in the Borgo Sisters parking lot across Center street from the church. That will help with parking congestion, particularly for the Friday night AA meeting that starts at 8PM.

Thanks!

Honest to God Blog

Let's be honest with God.
We've got hard questions. Let's not back away from asking them. This week the Honest to God blog takes a look at a question many of us ask, hear, or both:
Why hell?

We lose an hour!

This Sunday morning, March 9th, we lose an hour. It is time to Spring Forward and lose that hour of sleep. So remember to set your clocks.

Good Friday

This year we'll be celebrating Good Friday with friends from a number of churches - First Baptist Royal Oak, Genesis the Church, the Almont Vineyard, and probably our friends from LOGOS (Lamb of God Outreach Servants) as well. It'll be awesome. We'll be taking time to remember and reflect on Jesus' death and its significance and meaning for our lives today.

And an extra special part is that, immediately following the service, we'll be joining with Genesis for a joint baptism celebration, too!

The Good Friday gathering will be 6:30-7:30PM on Friday, March 21st, with the baptism immediately following. Free childcare for pre-school kids and younger will be available during the main gathering.

We hope to see you there!

Dudes Night Out!

That's right. It is time for another Dudes' Night Out. Friday, March 14th. We'll be heading out to Buffalo Wild Wings at 12 & Mound for dinner around 6:30PM. Then we'll head over to Bowlero for some real, live, honest bowling. You're invited!
