Encountering The Living God, Living The Jesus Lifestyle, Loving Others In His Name

Please join us for one of our community gatherings every Sunday at 10:30am. We meet at 309 N. Main Street in downtown Royal Oak, just north of 11 Mile (map). We share space with the folks from First Baptist Church (The Church on Main Street), so look for the signs. At the gathering you can learn more about our home groups that meet throughout the week. Come early and/or stay late for some coffee and tasty treats. We look forward to seeing you! -- Jim Pool, pastor

New Sermon Series

Summertime is full of joy.
Joy, whatever our circumstances.

Paul's short letter to the church at Philippi is full of joy. That, despite being written while he was in prison (possibly the one at left) and facing numerous other challenges. What kind of challenges do you face? Would you like to learn to live with more joy whatever your circumstances? Join us in June for a study of Philippians.

And bring a friend, because joy is contagious, and who doesn't need more joy?

Online Calendar

After much trial and error, we are pleased to announce that our new online calendar of church events is finally available! Check it out by clicking on the calendar icon above (at the top of this post column). Clicking on any particular event allows you to see it in much more detail. Enjoy!

[if you don't have regular internet access but would like a print copy of the calendar, please contact the church office]

Directories!

The latest church directories are finally completed. Owners and those who signed up for the directory can expect to get their copy by email (which you can print if you'd like - save those trees!). There will be some print copies available for our friends without email access.
If you're a regular at the Vineyard that didn't get a chance to sign up for the directory, but are still interested in signing up for a copy, please contact the church office.

Put your faith in action this Saturday

This Saturday is our monthly Grocery Giveaway, where we head off to meet our friends at Red Run Community and share with them some of the blessings we've received. We share our love and God's love for them, by bringing them a bag of groceries, a smile, and an offer of prayer. Feel free to join us.

We meet up at the church building at 12:30 to pack the bags and pray, and then head over to hand out some love from 1-2PM. We hope to see you there.

If you want to learn more about Ethiopia

Tuesday, May 13th, at 8PM, PBS will be airing a film called Walk to Beautiful. It tells the story of 5 Ethiopian women suffering from childbirth injuries, and the vision of two Australian doctors to help them - and others like them - overcome this preventable illness. For even more information, check out the Fistula Foundation site.

Our church is involved with others in partnering in Ethiopia, to see the full measure of God's Kingdom come, in ways like this, as well as seeing new faith communities established.

What's on Tap for Tonight

Two activities on tap for this evening:

1. Worship Team Meeting - if you're involved in the worship ministry (including A/V), or interested in being involved, you'll want to come to tonight's meeting. There will be some time for connecting, as well as some training in helping the church community more fully enter into a meaningful worship time. 7PM at the church building in the Heritage Room.

2. Single Mom's Night Out - single moms and their fatherless kids are very important to God's heart. We want to be a people of blessing to them, surrounding them in God's loving embrace. So if you're a single mom or know one that you'd like to invite and come with them, then you're welcome to come. Tonight, at the church building, at 6:30PM. A yummy free dinner and fun activities for the kids will be provided.
